What Is The Current Kid Kraze?
What is the new Kid Kraze?

It's not ipods.
It's not some funky shoes or new toy.
It's fitness!

Time Magazine featured an article on kids turning
to personal trainers for fitness. Here's a link to the article.

As you may know childhood obesity is at an all time high. Obesity is an epidemic that has been building for some time. In national surveys conducted 30 years ago, a hefty 46% of us were either overweight or obese. Fifteen years ago the           figure had swollen to 56%. Today, the estimate sits at over 65% – but now it’s not just confined to adults.  Where the prevalence of childhood obesity was once 4-5% in the U.S., today one third of kids in America are overweight and out of shape A stark contrast from when you and I were growing up.  And concerns about long term health such as diabetes and heart disease are beginning to raise eyebrows.
And you can hardly blame the kids. Taking PE class out of school sure doesn't help. And the stuff that passes for food at school lunch…I’m not even getting into that.

How about that Shaq!

I really appreciate what his new show,  “FAT CAMP” -- is doing:  putting the spotlight on a BIG problem.

But did you know…

According to the article in Time, today, more than 1 million kids are now using personal trainers to get in shape and stay in shape. Some as young as 6.
Joe Moore, President of International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association says, "We are seeing children that are out of shape where their parents realize the
exercise program needs to be safe and effective. A personal trainer is a good way to make sure that the criteria are met."  Kathy Ballew, who described her 7 year old son as a little overweight, started her son with a trainer and said this, "I also just want to get him in the habit of making exercise part of daily routine." She fears it's something he'll have to struggle with as he grows up.

Could Your Child Benefit From A Fitness Coach?
=================================

It's tough being a kid nowadays. I think you'd agree with me.

Self confidence and self esteem are so important for a child to possess at school and in life.  And body image, health and fitness all play an important role. Sports and fitness come  natural for a few of the kids. But for most, it doesn’t.  And with few other avenues for physical activity in our increasingly sedentary lifestyle, there is little chance most kids will adopt a healthy attitude toward nutrition and fitness.
That's why a trainer is so beneficial and makes so much sense.  I’ve trained many kids over the years, some as young as 7.  We regularly train kids as young as 10 up through college age in our studio.  Some are athletes looking to improve their sports performance.  Many are 'a little chunky' and certainly not star athletes.   What we do for their bodies and more importantly for their self esteem is HUGE! It is the coolest thing to see their image of themselves and their abilities change right before our eyes.  Adults expect to see results and don't get too excited with
small changes in strength, or a 1lb loss in body weight. But tell a kid that his bench press went up 5lbs. from last week and he will be walking on clouds the rest of the week! I can't tell you how good that makes me feel as well.

But even better than that are the habits that have been established for LIFE!! Isn't that your sole purpose for your kids... to provide them with a GREAT LIFE?
I want to see more of those cool reactions. I want to help you provide a great life for your kid(s). If you think your child may benefit with a personal trainer, please take advantage of our Get Kidz Fit Program. First, go to this link:
