Turning YOUR New Year's Resolutions into Real Results!
Yes, I'm back on the "resolution" theme because we're a little less than half way through January and the majority of "resolvers" have already given up or are about to give up -- some have even forgotten what their resolution was!
Over the past few years, we have helped many people maximize their overall health, fitness, and body composition faster than ever before. Our team has developed a rapid fat loss workout and nutrition system that delivers results time after time.
So, the system works...as long as you work the system.
So, what is the key to "working the system"? Well, today I am going to share something more powerful than the workout and nutrition system; something that must be put in place before you even start to think about following a fitness program.
What do you think is the real secret behind our clients' success? Well, if your answer was our workout and nutrition system, then your answer is wrong. While it is a well-designed, well-researched program, it's useless if someone is unwilling to start it AND stick with it.
So, it appears that the most important component of changing your body is finding the motivation to do it.
I am going to walk you through a goal setting process that you need to do in order to tap into your super motivation. This is so important to fitness and weight loss success that I seriously doubt that anyone can achieve long term health and fitness results without it.
Many people think goal setting is a waste of time. Unfortunately, I simply cannot do anything for those people. I can only help people who want to learn. I cannot help people who refuse to take some time to figure out what it is that they actually want to accomplish. The bottom line is that the most successful people out there, and I mean not just weight loss success, I am talking business, lifestyle, etc., are shamelessly goal driven.
Now, these people do 3 things:
They know exactly WHY (1) they want to do something; they then use that super motivation to figure out WHAT (2) needs to be done; and by WHEN (3) they want to accomplish their goal.
Furthermore, they plan and prepare for every possible stumbling block they will encounter in their path to success. This is what I want to teach you how to do today, so let's get to it!
THE WHY: Why do you want to do this?
This is when it's time to get real. When I ask my clients this question: "Why have you come to see me?" here is the response I often hear first:
"Well, I just want to get fit and lose a bit of weight."
And, unfortunately, I just don't believe them!! Yes, I know they want to lose weight and be healthy, I mean who doesn't?
But, WHY do they want to do this? What is it that's going to get them up at 5 am to ensure they perform their morning workouts? What is going to motivate them to take a couple of hours on Sunday to plan and prepare their meals for the week? I am quite certain that "being fit" or "healthy" is not going to motivate them, because for some reason this just isn't a very powerful motivator for most people (though it should be).
Let's face it: everybody, including YOU, wants to look better. In fact, I am going to say something that may seem quite out of character for those that know me well. I am going to suggest that 99.9% of people want to look better naked!! Or, at the "bare" minimum (excuse the pun) they want to look better with fewer clothes on (bathing suit, evening wear, mowing the lawn with their shirt off). Stop giggling (or gasping in horror), you know it's true and frankly that's okay because the desire to improve one's appearance is one of the most powerful motivators there is.
Some people want to be able to mow the lawn in the summer with their shirt off and not feel self-conscious. Others want to get back into their favorite pair of jeans that they haven't been able to wear for the last five years. Then there are those who want to portray their best image at work or those that want to look and feel more attractive to ignite some passion back into their relationship.
Then there is preparing for a big event that has a built in deadline:
- to get as lean and toned as possible to wear that bathing suit on vacation,
- to get off the plane to visit friends or family you haven't seen in
6 months and amaze them with your new body,
- to look magnificent in your wedding dress on the big day.
The bottom line is...it all works! This is the stuff that gets people incredibly motivated and ready to commit to making some real changes. How do I know? Well, I just shared with you some of the exact "WHY'S" of some of my own clients.
So, the first thing you have to figure out is your personal WHY. To make this even simpler for you, just keep playing the WHY game with yourself.
If you come up with an answer like: "because I want to lose weight or get fit", ask yourself "WHY" again. Perhaps your answer now becomes: "so I can fit into those pants I used to wear". Now, you are getting closer. But, you may need to ask yourself yet another "WHY" to get to the real root of your motivation. Once you establish this, everything else is simple.
If you're ready to get to the bottom of your "WHY," and finally achieve the health and fitness results you've been dreaming about, give me a call at the number listed below, or go here to request a free consultation.
